Environmental portrait photography using external speedlights.

Artist Statement

“My portraiture project was with the Women’s City Club in Delaware, Ohio, who provide safe affordable housing for women of modest means. These women are here because of a hardship and need time to get their lives together. I am hoping that by photographing these women, I can help to build their self-esteem.  With so many obstacles in their lives, they need to realize that they are beautiful inside and out. I hope I can help them see this through my work.”

Biography

As a career teacher, I encouraged my students to use their talents. Now a student of photography, I hone my own talents by capturing the beauty around me through my lens. My portfolio encompasses portraits, flowers, landscapes, and wildlife.

I have taken classes through UA Creative Studios, Columbus State University, Rocky Mountain School of Photography, National Geographic photography workshops and Nikon School workshops.

“I am hoping that by

photographing these women,

I can help to build their self-esteem.”
