Abstract photography produced with a macro lens
Artist Statement
Many of the things we encounter on a daily basis could be considered ordinary, mundane, and ugly. During this project, I set out to reveal the beauty of these things. From their texture and lines, to their tones and colors. With camera in hand, I chose my macro lens to get in close to see the texture of what I was photographing. By changing my angle and point of view, I was able to get a shallow depth of field, that produced a wonderful out of focus area, great colors, and tones. While going through this process I started seeing things differently. Seeing their beauty through my abstract eye.
